The bankruptcy process
If you decide to file for bankruptcy, you must first gather a record of all your debts. Next, you must tell your creditors that our firm is representing you in your bankruptcy.
If you are filing Chapter 7, you will meet with a bankruptcy trustee. After this meeting, the trustee will file a report with the bankruptcy court and, if successful, the judge will discharge your debt.
If you are filing Chapter 13, you and the bankruptcy trustee will agree to a three to five-year repayment plan.
